Located north of Sturgeon Bay, take either Hwy 57 (less congested), or Hwy 42, to Northport (2 miles beyond Gill`s Rock). Take 1/2 hour ride on the Washington Island Ferry to Washington Island. Using the map printed inside of your ferry schedule, drive 9 miles across Washington Island (20 minutes) to the Rock Island parking lot, located at Jackson Harbor on Washington Island. Take the Rock Island Ferry to Rock Island. The Rock Island Ferry transports foot passengers only, no vehicles and beware of timing! For Ferry information: please call 1-800-223-2094. |

Park is open 1st come / 1st served all other dates, however, customer is responsible for arranging their own transportation to the island. The reservation dates, and dates of scheduled Ferry service to the island, are the same. Rock Island State Park offers primitive, walk-in camping. Rock Island has pit toilets in the campground and flush toilets in the picnic area. No showers. Garbage is collected at the dock and recycling is mandatory. Maximum stay is 14 nights.
